A Castlebar man who crashed his van into a another vehicle and then left the scene of the accident was before Castlebar District Court on Wednesday.

Student grants on Facebook

Mayo County Council is the first county in the country to inform its students about the availability of Higher Education Grants on Facebook. €500,000 for Castlebar roads

Fine Gael Leader, Enda Kenny, TD, has welcomed the Road Works Estimates from Castlebar Town Council for 2010.  A total of €585,000 has been allocated toward improvements and maintenance around the town. From this funding, approximately €216,000 will be spent on 18 locations where improvement and installation works are required.

The Castlebar Community Games athletic finals will take place on Tuesday May 25 at 6pm at St Mary’s track Castlebar. Registration will take place from 5.45pm and entry fee is €2 per child.
