Labour Party weekend survey
The Labour Party is to conduct a new grassroots survey in Mayo this weekend in a bid to canvass new voters and determine important issues. The campaign and ‘30 second’ survey will see Labour party supporters out in force and will continue through the region for six weeks. New Labour candidate Dr Jerry Cowley stated: “I’m excited about the opportunity to meet with voters. We are a party that listens. I hope people will take the time to fill out the survey. Their opinions are very important to us and will help shape the focus of my campaign and that of the Labour Party.”

New student guide from TD
Mayo Fine Gael TD, John O’Mahony has published an information leaflet containing tips and advice on various aspects of third-level college life.
The goal of the ‘Next Step’ brochure is to make young people aware of their entitlements and to offer practical advice on what to expect.
“For many people, attending third level is the first experience of living away from home and it’s a major transition. What I have tried to achieve with The Next Step is to put all the issues that they will encounter all together,” he said.
