There’s a packed week at The Snug Bar with great live performances on the stage and on the big screen!

THEY HAVE been called “serious challengers for the area populated by the likes of Fleet Foxes, Mumford and Sons, and The Low Anthem" by Hotpress and “one of the most promising young bands to come out of Ireland in several decades,” according to Maverick.

Amazing Apples will be the highlight at The Snug bar in Athlone this weekend. This renowned five-piece multi-instrumentalist folk/rock band from Galway are enjoying a huge profile and are always welcome at The Snug. They will take to the stage on Sunday at 9pm.

GALWAY BAND The Amazing Apples have landed in 2015 with some striking singles – ‘Slipping By’, and their most recent, ‘Lullaby’ - and now comes their debut album A Little Sense, which will be released on Friday May 29, followed by a celebratory hometown gig at the Róisín Dubh on Sunday May 31.

THE YOUNG Folk, “one of the most promising young bands to come out of Ireland in several decades,” according to Maverick magazine, play The Loft (formerly Kelly’s) this Saturday.

On Thursday renowned local musicians Jock and Dave are in The Snug from 9.30pm to play a wide range of songs to suit all musical tastes from the old classics to the current chart toppers.

This Sunday at The Snug Dave and Eric known as the Toxic Twins will be entertaining from 7pm.

This Thursday night February 19 is retro night at The Snug Bar, with The Retronauts providing a blast from the past with a modern twist! This Dublin band perform a quirky mix of funk, disco, rock and reggae hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and today, and they are influenced by artists as diverse as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Aretha Franklin to Chic, Prince, and Diana Ross.
