First class weekend ahead at The Snug Bar

On Thursday renowned local musicians Jock and Dave are in The Snug from 9.30pm to play a wide range of songs to suit all musical tastes from the old classics to the current chart toppers.

The Snug are delighted to welcome Rofi James, an energetic rhythm band from Galway, on Friday at 10pm. This band took first prize in iRadio’s iRocks Battle of the Bands ahead of 600 other entrants. Their self-titled debut EP was recorded in Grouse Lodge Recording Studios and was released in April 2014. Their influences include Imagine Dragons, The Coronas, Foo Fighters, Walking on Cars, The Beatles, Lawson, Maroon 5, U2, and One Republic.

On Saturday night catch Acoustic 2, an acoustic cover band playing a lively mix of old and new. You can expect a very lively performance that always gets the crowd involved. DJ Jamie will be setting the mood in the beer garden.

For a Snug Sunday, Crooked Jacks return to the bar at 7pm. They are a well-established ballad/ folk group from the Midlands who have played in top venues in London, New York, and Amsterdam. Their influences are The Dubliners, Dublin City Ramblers, The Pogues, Mumford and Sons, and The Clancys.

They are followed by Macey South at 9pm; this band’s energy is comparable to the Pogues and Horslips whilst drawing influences from a variety of genres. Macey South are incredibly unique and delight audiences with their original mix of traditional Irish music and rock ‘n’ roll that never fails to get an audience involved. It should be a great evening at The Snug.
