Amazing Apples will be the highlight at The Snug bar in Athlone this weekend. This renowned five-piece multi-instrumentalist folk/rock band from Galway are enjoying a huge profile and are always welcome at The Snug. They will take to the stage on Sunday at 9pm.
The musically versatile and talented band have massive charisma and huge live appeal. Their sound is Irish/Americana with tons of personality and high-energy performances. All the members are multi-instrumentalists incorporating bouzouki, mandolin, keyboard, and fiddle for their live show.
The band have supported bands like Mumford and Sons, Damien Dempsey, Walking on Cars, Mundy, The Saw Doctors, and The Stunning at venues such as Electric Picnic and the Currafest. They were also chosen twice as ‘Play Irish’ artists of the month with their song ‘Head in the Clouds’. ‘Slipping By’ was released in March 2014 and peaked at no.1 on the iTunes downloads charts.

The weekend’s activities will get underway on Thursday May 21 at 10pm, with a performance from Hickory Wind. Buckeye will be the main attraction on Friday, while the Late Greats and DJ Jamie will play on Saturday night.
