The Galway People of the Year Awards marked a significant milestone at the weekend, celebrating their 30th anniversary with a gala banquet that drew more than 550 family members, friends, and supporters to the Galway Bay Hotel.

Residents of Ballybane and beyond can take a proactive step towards their health on Thursday July 17 and 6.30pm as a local registered general nurse is offering free blood pressure and blood sugar tests at Ballybane Community Hub.

The next cookery demonstration in Ballybane Community Hub takes place on Thursday June 12 at 6.30pm. Learn how to make delicious versatile sauces such a creamy peppercorn sauce, perfect with steak, buttery hollandaise sauce to add richness to fish and vegetables, and finally a creamy mushroom sauce to elevate pasta, pork or chicken dishes.

Ballybane Community Hub is set to host a mouth-watering cookery demonstration as part of its Summer Salads Season on Thursday next May 15 at 6:30 PM. The event will be led by local chef Maria McNeela, the culinary talent behind Rustic Grub, who will guide attendees through the preparation of fresh, seasonal salads and complementary sides.

The Ballybane Community Hub will host an information evening on life in the Defence Forces on Thursday April 24 at 6.30pm.

Independent Councillor Terry O’Flaherty has welcomed the start of work on installing street lighting in the Coillte Mhuirlinne area of Ballybane, undertaken at her request.
