Ballinrobe brings Halloween early in 2016

Ballinrobe Musical Society will be bringing Halloween early to town next year with its 2016 production The Addams Family. The hit Broadway show tells the story of the hilariously ghoulish American family with an affinity for all things macabre.

A relatively new show, The Addams Family was an instant hit on Broadway, only being outsold by Phantom of the Opera and The Lion King. It will be performed by the society next February. With music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, the show is a side splittingly funny show that brings the audience on a roller coaster of events.

Nephin Theatre Group brings Flight FR254, a new comedy by Martin Donohoe, to the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Wednesday October 7 at 8pm.

Flight FR254 welcomes you to the Arrivals hall of an Irish airport late in the evening, two days before Christmas. The patrons are awaiting various passengers from the titular flight, and their stories and situations guarantee an entertaining night with laughs aplenty. Written and directed by Martin Donohoe, and packed with many lovable characters, Flight FR254 boasts a strong cast of 11 actors with a wealth of experience on the amateur scene. Nephin Theatre Group is an exciting initiative established in 2014 and comprises members from different drama groups in north Mayo who come together to produce original plays. Based in Ballina Arts Centre, Nephin Theatre Group’s first play was Over the Ocean, also written and directed by Martin Donohoe, his second play following Waiting for God Only Knows What, which was produced in 2013. A fun night is on the cards, fasten your seatbelts.
