Claremorris Town Hall Theatre hosts great night of poetry and song this evening

Tonight, Friday, October 23 a great night of  poetry and song is in store in Claremorris when Terry McDonagh and the Reidy Brothers, Ger and Tony take to the stage of the Town Hall Theatre at 7.30pm.

Terry McDonagh is a poet and dramatist, who has taught creative writing at the University of Hamburg and has been a writer in residence in various countries around the globe. He has published eight poetry collections, a book of letters and prose.

Ger Reidy was born near Westport. He has won several national poetry competitions and has been the recipient of a number of bursaries and residencies sponsored by the Arts Council and Mayo County Council. His first collection, Pictures from a Reservation, was published by Dedalus Press. He has been published in many literary journals, both at home and abroad, and has read at numerous literary festivals.

Tony Reidy was born and reared in Aughagower near Westport. He started songwriting in the late eighties and has released three albums The Coldest Day In Winter, A Rough Shot Of Lipstick, and his latest long player Hayshed Days. He has gained a considerable reputation as a songwriter. His themes include tales of informers, small town romance, dreamers, losers, and clowns.
