To promote the release of their latest album, This is Normal, Los Langeros join forces with Whipping Boy front man Fearghal McKee with his new band for a series of dates across Ireland, stopping off in Geraghty’s, Westport, on October 9. Los Langeros are a demented concoction of country-tinged goat-punk rockabilly. With three albums already behind them and diversity of sound reflecting their disparate influences from Hank Williams to Nomeansno and Tom Waits.

McKee’s band, which will also feature Whipping Boy drummer Colm Hassett, will play some Whipping Boy classics, as well as new material. Fri, Sep 17, 2010

After having had a highly successful 2009-2010 run, Mayo Youth Theatre-Ballina returns for an even more exciting and ambitious season. The youth theatre is aimed at anyone aged between 14 and 22 with an interest in any aspect of drama, whether it is acting (for theatre or film), music, dance, sound, lighting, production management, or scriptwriting. Established in 1999, it not only aims to facilitate the enjoyment of drama but also aims to promote, develop, and support high quality youth theatre. It emphasises personal and social development equally with the attainment of artistic excellence. In youth theatre personal and social developments are as important as artistic quality.
