You may know him best as Dieter Langer in RTÉ’s Killinascully, but actor Louis Lovett is more than just a German cheese seller from the television. He is in fact one of Ireland’s most experienced and critically acclaimed performers for children, and he is currently starring in Theatre Lovett’s superb new theatrical experience for young people, The House that Jack Filled, which will be staged as part of the Linenhall Arts Centre’s, Roolaboola, Children’s Art Festival on Friday, October 26 at 7.30pm and Saturday, October 27 at 2.30pm. Over the past 20 years Louis has worked with children of all ages through theatre and music with many companies including The Abbey Theatre, TEAM Educational Theatre Company, The Chester Beatty Library, and The Ark, A Cultural Centre for Children.

Mayo Male Voice Choir launch their debut CD

The Mayo Male Voice Choir will launch their debut album tonight in the Fáilte Suite in the Welcome Inn Hotel. The choir under the direction of musical director Deirdre Lee the 60 plus choir has built up a top class reputation for it is live performances over the past number of years. This seven track CD will give the choirs many admires a permanent memento of the talents of the choir. The selection of tracks on the CD combine the best of showtime favourites, popular classics and choral standards. Tony Conway, chairman of the Mayo Male Voice Choir, has extended an invitation to all music lovers to attend tonight’s launch at 8 pm saying: "This is an opportunity for the choir to welcome its many friends to this special occasion, and to mark the launch of the first CD as another milestone in the history of the Mayo Male Voice Choir ."

Hollywood actress Mischa Barton, star of The Sixth Sense and The OC, makes her Irish stage debut as Shelby Eatenton, and Anne Charleston, who played Madge Bishop in Neighbours, plays Ouiser Boudreaux in this production.
