Centra’s new own brand range supporting Mayo suppliers

Centra, one of Ireland’s leading convenience retailers, is helping to boost the Irish economy through its recently launched Own Brand range of 900 products. One hundred and ten of the 150 suppliers who produce this innovative range are Irish, with two of these suppliers coming from Mayo. The Mayo companies are O’Hara’s Bakery and William Carr & Sons Limited.

Projected retail sales in 2013 for these 110 Irish companies is expected to be in excess of €150 million. Initial performance of the range has been strong, with sales of €40 million achieved since its launch in April; a figure that is set to grow as awareness increases, according to Centra.

Mayo NLN centres win Excellence Through People Award

Two National Learning Network centres in Mayo have been awarded an Excellence Through People award — Ireland's national standard for human resource development. The National Learning Network centres in Castlebar are two of the organisation’s 50 purpose-built training and employment centres across the country which train 13,000 people every year. This is the second time that National Learning Network, Rehab’s training and employment division has successfully attained the award, placing the organisation among the top 10 per cent of companies in the country that have achieved Excellence Through People to date.
