Plans for basketball return on hold

Galway basketball clubs, and in particular Super League clubs Moycullen and Maree, hoping for a return to play, will await the outcome of Basketball Ireland's meeting for next Tuesday to discuss the 2020/21 season.

Follows the Government announcement of an extension to level five restrictions until March 5, Basketball Ireland Board chairman Paul McDevitt will host a special meeting of all national committee chairs, Basketball Ireland president PJ Reidy, and Chair of Basketball Ireland’s ‘Return to Play’ group, Charles Higgins, to discuss the way forward for the sport at all levels

Mongan is well known in Galway sporting circles having held every role and duty in the Olympic Boxing Club. However, his influence has extended beyond the club with involvement with Foroige and Tusla Youth Projects, Garda Diversion Projects, the Galway City Partnership, Youthreach, Dochas Don Oige, Community Training Centre and organisations encouraging the participation and progression of members in education and into employment.
