Phil Trill’s side held out for a 1-0 win against Shamrock Rovers courtesy of a first half finish from defender Eve Dossen. They negotiated some tricky moments thereafter, not least when Irish international Áine O’Gorman blazed over from close range.

Athletics Ireland has announced a strong team for next month’s European Athletics Championships. The event will be held in Rome between June 7 to 12, and will include one Galway athlete.
Young Athenry AC star Sean Doggett has had a rapid ascent to prominence. Under his coach Stephen Doggett, his wonderful 400m form has led to him being selected for the Men’s 4 by 400m Relay team. Doggett has clocked a 46 second time this year, and will compete alongside Jack Raftery, Callum Baird, Chris O'Donnell, Joe Doody and Thomas Barr on the Irish 4 by 400m Men’s squad.
