The Connacht Property Auction sees forty per cent increase in UK and foreign buyers

The Connacht Property Auction has noted a significant uplift in foreign buyers looking to purchase in the west of Ireland. During the months of June, July, and August, the auction team have seen an increase of 40 per cent in enquiries for Galway, Mayo, and Clare from foreign based buyers. The majority of these are from the UK with sterling exchange rate remaining very strong while there are also strong enquiries from Australia, Germany, US, and Canada.

Winters Property Management is taking the lead in addressing the rental housing crisis facing cities and colleges across Ireland. The company plans on rolling out a pilot scheme in Galway city, which may alleviate some of the pressure caused by the worst accommodation crisis in 15 years. 

Managing director of one of Ireland’s largest letting agencies, Enda McGuane of Winters Property Management, has revealed that young professionals and returning students are snapping up what scarce rental properties there are — properties that would traditionally be the preserve of first year students.
