Galway social enterprises Bounce Back Recycling (BBR) and Bounce Back Upcycling (BBU) hosted an open day event on Saturday, June 15 at Ballybrit Industrial Estate. The event was part of Traveller Pride and marked the relocation of BBU, next door to their sister enterprise BBR. Mairead Farrell TD was in attendance as were newly elected city councillors, Helen Ogbu (Labour), Shane Forde (Fine Gael), and Aisling Burke (Sinn Féin).

This did not deter Mama Duck as she and her ducklings made their way to the innovation hub on a mission, making quite an incredible journey, as the organisation does not have ready access to the river.

The House will premiere this September at the Town Hall Theatre in Galway and then transfer to the Gaiety Theatre for the Dublin Theatre Festival. Tickets for Galway go on sale Wednesday, June 12 at 10am.

The great fiddle player, piano player and composer Charlie Lennon has passed away. He was 85. Born in Kiltyclogher in County Leitrim, on the border with Fermanagh, in 1938, he grew up in an area rich in music. At the age of seven, he began piano lessons with a local teacher, Theresa Gilmartin, and progressed through the grades of the Royal Irish Academy of Music until he was 13. At the same time, his elder brother, the late Ben Lennon (1928–2020), began teaching him the fiddle.
