Having recently launched a Home Care Service, The Village Care Centre will offer free home care packages to suitable candidates over the coming fortnight. The service will offer three two hourly visits per week for the next two weeks.

The group provides opportunities for people who stutter to discuss issues around their stammering, as well as providing mutual support. Man who refused to pay for ‘romantic night’ at B&B found with fake money

A romantic night at a city centre B&B took a turn for the worse when the Romeo refused to pay for a room and was then found to be in possession of counterfeit money.

Farid Fawzi who, at 24-years-old has racked up 79 previous convictions, appeared before Galway District Court last Monday where he pleaded guilty to making off without paying for services, valued at €35, at Copper Beech Guest House, College Road, and to having in his possession three counterfeit €50 notes. A charge for obstruction of Garda Derek Mullen was struck out.

A campaign to honour the 159 women who have been murdered in Ireland since 1996 and raise awareness of the killing of females was launched in NUI, Galway this week.

The NUI, Galway Femicide Awareness Campaign ‘...Because She Was A Woman’ will run for 16 days and is made up of both undergraduate and postgraduate students. It seeks to raise awareness on campus as well as in the wider community of the issue of female killings (femicide) in Ireland and violence against women.
