The Kia Niro has been named as the overall winner in the 2023 Women’s World Car of the Year.
The announcement coincided with International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on March 8 as a focal point in the women’s rights movement, bringing attention to issues such as gender equality, and violence and abuse against women.

The provisional crime figures for 2022 showed a rise in some major crimes throughout 2022 - but An Garda Síochána cautioned that comparisons between 2022 and 2021 “should continue to be considered in the context of Covid-19”.
