Ford summer car service offers

Most motorists use their cars more in the summer than in the dreary, dull months of winter, so summer is the ideal time to take advantage of what Ford describes as its car servicing offers.

These offers include price reductions for drivers of both new and older Ford models. For example, for drivers of Ford models five years or older (pre-2011), the Fservice offering is called Ford Motorcraft Service, and Ford Motorcraft customers can benefit from a €20 price reduction, bringing the light service down to €109 for a car, €149 for a small van and €179 for a large van.

161 registrations up twenty three per cent

New car registrations are up for the first half of this year, according to new sales figures released by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry.

New car registrations had jumped by 23 per cent (101,338) from the same period last year (82,337), while the month of June saw an increase of 12 per cent (1,626) compared to June 2015 (1,448).

Members of the Green Army in France shelled out up to €2,000 for the pleasure of shouting on the boys in green at Euro 2016.

In a survey carried out by Continental Tyres, official sponsor of UEFA Euro 2016, and You Boys in Green website (ybig.ie), some 45 per cent of fans who travelled to France were expected to spend up to €2,000 for the trip, while 27 per cent said they would spend less than €1,000.

With just days to go until Euro 2016 kicks off, the mass exodus of happy Irish soccer fans has begun in earnest. And it appears that most supporters are taking to the autoroutes of France to support the boys in green.

Research carried out by Enterprise Rent-A-Car, found that over 1 in 5 (21%) Irish holiday- makers who plan to drive abroad this summer are heading to France. In fact, almost a quarter (23%) of Irish people travelling to France this summer are going for the sole reason of supporting Ireland in Euro 2016.
