New car and van monthly sales are up

Official statistics just released by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) show that total new car registrations for the month of May are up 4.7 per cent (6,341) when compared with May 2018 (6,055). New car registrations year to date are however still down by 7.6 per cent (at 79,343) on the same period last year (85,868).

New limited edition Renault Zoe now available

The Irish EV market is up 270 per cent in the first five months of this year compared to a similar period last year. And Renault has revealed a limited edition Zoe Z.E. 40 R110 S-Edition.

Available to order now from €28,990, the S-Edition comes in an ‘Aconite’ purple, and is equipped with all of the features in the top-selling Dynamique Nav version plus rear parking camera, sporty half leather seats and BOSE audio system.

Diesel still the popular choice for Irish motorists

New research commissioned by Seat Ireland has revealed 50 per cent of the 495 Irish respondents would choose a diesel car, compared to just 32 per cent who would prefer a petrol car. This figure showcases how diesel cars are still very much front of mind for Irish motorists.

According to the Seat research, Irish motorists would like to change their car every three years and almost one in three (28 per cent) have researched three different models prior to buying a new car. Of those surveyed, 75 per cent either fully understood or had some understanding of all car finance options available to them.
