Adult Irish language classes at Conradh na Gaeilge

There will be four different levels available on this course with a choice between Tuesday and Wednesday evening classes. The teachers have several years of experience facilitating classes to enable learners to develop what they hear, read, and speak in the language.

New science toolkit to be distributed to schools across Ireland

A new science toolkit designed to teach children about environmental science will be distributed to 300 classrooms throughout Ireland. Launched during the 2018 Science Week at Scoil Iosef Naofa in Oranmore, the free educational toolkit ‘Spikey’s Journey: an Exploration Box’ is the culmination of a two year-long European project developed in Ireland by NUI Galway Cell EXLORERS, ProActivate Ireland, and Toodlelou Creativity Lab.

Heavily subsidised degree for women in business, enterprise, and community development

EQUAL Ireland is now offering a part-time three year BA degree in business, enterprise, and community development (accredited by AIT) commencing this January in Galway city.

The programme is heavily subsidised under the Programme for Employment, Inclusion and Learning (PEIL) 2014-2020 initiative. Year one is available free of charge to women working in the home and not in receipt of social welfare payments. Year two fees are €1,000 and year three fees are €2,500, and there is a possibility that funding support will be made available later in 2019 to cover the entire programme.

Youth Academy at NUI Galway receives €250,000 gift from Merit Medical
