THREE OF the finest emerging young comedians in Ireland - Belfast’s Shane Todd, Mayo’s Paul David Murphy, and Cork’s Ashley Manning - play the next Comedy KARLnival at the Róisín Dubh.
Shane Todd, a "modern-day king of comedy" according to The Belfast Telegraph, is best known for his YouTube videos; his character north Down 'celebrity' Mike McGoldrick; and for hosting BBC2's Late License, the BBC Radio Ulster show Live At The Sunflower, and BBC NI's The Shane Todd Show.
Described as the "physical embodiment of County Mayo", Paul David Murphy's comedy embraces sketches, storytelling, impressions, musical comedy, political satire, one-liners, and even rapping. He is a previous winner of the solo show at the Muscailt Festival, and has appeared on the popular web series Gimp Bishcuit. A fresh face on the Cork comedy scene, Ashley Manning offers a frank insight into the reality of being a twenty-something Irish woman.
The Comedy KARLnival takes place in the Róisín on Tuesday April 24 at 9pm. The MC is Karl Spain. Tickets are €5 in advance from OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street; Roisin Dubh; and www.roisindubh.net or €7 at the door.
