FORMER CHILDREN and regular eaters, Foil, Arms & Hog return to Galway this month with Oink, their new, fast paced, sketch show featuring songs for the elderly, a baggage handler’s interpretive dance, and a shop which only sells balaclavas.
The trio of Sean Finegan (Foil ), Conor McKenna (Arms ), and Sean Flanagan (Hog ), play the Town Hall Theatre on Thursday March 22, Friday 23, and Saturday 24 at 8pm.
Over the past nine years, Foil, Arms & Hog have become one of Irish comedy’s best loved forces, with such live show sketches as The Net People and Passport Control becoming cult classics. Their YouTube videos have enjoyed 50 million hits. Rowan Atkinson has called them "very funny", and the Edinburgh Festivals magazine declared them "a sensation".
Last year, Sean Finegan told the Galway Advertiser about the trio's preparations for Oink: "We’re writing material every day. You do get bored of the old stuff after a while, so when you have new stuff, it’s always a great buzz, seeing how it will work on stage and how it will go down with the audience. We do a new show every year, but the second half always has some of 'the hits'. It's fun reprising them as you can re-write them and improve them. They can be like the re-released versions of Star Wars."
This is a 'Róisín Dubh presents...' show. Tickets are available from www.roisindubh.net; the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street; The Róisín Dubh; and the Town Hall (091 - 569777, www.tht.ie ).
