Headford Ecopark Limited is launched

A new company, Headford Ecopark Limited, has been formed and those behind it hope it will lead to the establishment of a green enterprise centre that will attract and foster small green and eco-enterprises to the area.

The company and its new green enterprise park will be located in Balrickard, Galway Road, Headford. The site has been provided by the Headford Development Association Ltd.

An application for planning permission will be lodged shortly. The finishing touches are being put to the proposed green building which will provide for state of the art facilities to support small businesses in the area.

Funding of €500,000 has been granted by Enterprise Ireland. The funding was secured following a submission on the project written by John Duffy, John McGrath, and Eamonn Walsh.

They were assisted by Fianna Fáil Cllr Mary Hoade who made representations on behalf of the group to the Minister for Trade Mary Coughlan to ensure Headford Ecopark Limited secured funding from Enterprise Ireland.

Headford Ecopark Limited will be formally launched at the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Headford. The seven directors of the new company are Eamonn Walsh, John McGrath, John Duffy, Catherine Murphy, Cllr Mary Hoade, Conor Carey, and Noel King.

The directors are confident that, despite the recession, the project will nurture local entrepreneurs, provide a focal point for the future development of Headford, and create “much needed employment”.

The directors welcome submissions/expressions of interest. For more information e-mail [email protected] or call 093 - 36030 or 087 - 8530739.
