When the vicar met the folk-rocker

A FEMALE Church of Ireland vicar and a folk-rocker from Arkansas will be reading at the March Over The Edge in the Galway City Library on Thursday March 26 at 6.30pm.

Maureen Ryan is the vicar and Marck Beggs is the rocker.

Maureen lives in Galway, has published two novels, and more than 400 academic papers, essays, sermons, meditations, and reflections. She is a psychologist, a Church of Ireland vicar, and a canon in the National Cathedral of St Patrick’s in Dublin. She is working on a collection of short stories entitled Marchpane Smiles.

Marck is a professor and graduate dean at Henderson State University, Arkansas. When he is not writing poems or singing his folk songs with his band Dog Gods, he can sometimes be found watching the weeds proliferate in his garden as he daydreams of fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and butternut squash.
