Jin Youg exhibits new work in Galway

Chinese artist displays new work at Renzo Café

JIN YONG, a Chinese artist living in Galway, is hosting an exhibition of his latest works, featuring striking, multicoloured, images of animals, in the Renzo Café and Gallery, Eyre Street.

Yong, based in Ireland since 2002, has had 14 solo exhibitions in Ireland, and participated in a number of group exhibitions. He is one of very few Asian full-time visual artists based in Ireland, and has sold more than 400 paintings to date. He curated also a photography exhibition commissioned by the Chinese Embassy to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of Founding of People’s Republic of China and the 35th Anniversary of China-Ireland diplomatic relations.

In 2016, he was nominated for the Chinese Professional Achievement Award by Association of Chinese Professionals in Ireland. In 2017, he was invited as one of the three ambassadors to promote Dublin Chinese New Year celebration with ‘Irish Icons’ exhibition at Kildare Village.
