Mary Coughlan to play Druid Sessions #3

Ireland's greatest jazz singer plays hometown gig in March

MARY COUGHLAN, Ireland's greatest jazz singer, will headline the next in Ollie Jenning's new series of gig nights, the Druid Sessions, with the show taking place in early March.

Coughlan will play an intimate, one hour, set, accompanied by Jimmy Smyth (guitar ), Johnny Taylor (piano ), and Cormac O'Brien (double bass ), performing songs from across her long career, on Saturday March 10 at The Mick Lally Theatre at 8.30pm. Support is from Loughrea singer-songwriter Ultan Conlon, who will showcase songs from his new album Last Days Of The Night Owl, which was recorded in Nashville. There will also be a set from another Loughrea singer-songwriter, Niamh Regan.
