Remember Phil Lynott this weekend

Concert to mark 32nd anniversary of the passing of a rock legend

THIS MONTH marks the 32nd anniversary of the all too early passing of the great Phil Lynott, but the music of the Thin Lizzy singer, bassist, songwriter, and leader, will be celebrated in Galway this weekend.

The annual Phil Lynott Remembrance Gig takes place tomorrow at 10pm in Monroe’s Live and will see Remembering Lizzy perform such Lizzy classics as 'Emerald', ‘Whiskey in the Jar’, ‘Sarah’, ‘Jailbreak’ and ‘The Boys Are Back In Town’. Remembering Lizzy played their first Thin Lizzy tribute show in 1991 in Galway to mark the fifth anniversary of Phil’s death. The band was once joined onstage by Phil’s mother, Philomena Lynott, for a rendition of ‘Dancing In The Moonlight’.

The special guest are Lean. Tickets are €10 from www.monroes.ie
