Disability seminar to champion supporting choice and independence
Galway Rural Development (GRD ) is organizing a Disability Seminar in Peacockes Hotel on Wednesday, November 22 and will focus specifically on the issue of Choice and Independence Support for people with disabilities.
This seminar will take place from 1:30pm to 5pm where Leigh Gath, the Disability Rights Campaign agent will be the guest speaker at the event. Leigh Gath is also the HSE’s Confidential Recipient ).
This seminar is open to the public and is free of charge. The main service providers will be present at the event including Brothers of Charity, Ability West, Galway City for Independent Living, DeafHear, Citizens Information (CIC ), Department of Social Protection (DSP ) and many more.
“We hope that representatives from the employment sector will also be present. We would also hope that this Seminar would encourage the common public to show more interest in this issue and that it would not be limited to those who deal with this reality,” said Gearóid Ó Fátharta of GRD.

Gardai ask did you see any bin-laden thieves
Gardai in Galway are asking the public if they saw any bin-laden thieves in the Rahoon road area last week.
On Wednesday November 1, between 2am and 7pm, three wheelie bins were taken from the garden of a house on the Rahoon road, Galway.
Gardai in Galway are investigating this incident and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this theft to contact 091 538000.
