Katie Kim returns to Galway

Following release of new album singer-songwriter set to play FEAST this month

KATIE KIM, the slowcore, ethereal, ambient folk/pop singer-songwriter is coming to Galway to play the next FEAST night at the Róisín Dubh, performing songs from her new album, Salt.

Katie Kim (aka Katie Sullivan ) plays FEAST on Sunday November 12 at 8pm. Salt, released on October 14, has already been shortlisted for this year’s RTÉ Choice Music Prize Irish Album of the Year.

She recorded the album in a self-built recording and artist space in Dublin called Guerrilla Studios, with producer John 'Spud' Murphy. It represents a departure from the artist's previous albums, Cover and Flood, delving further into the drone side of her music, and featuring a more textured production.

The album has met with critical acclaim. The Last Mixtape called it "a triumph...a wonder to behold...Katie Kim at her best"; "There’s exceptional musical aptitude to be found in and amongst its forty-odd minutes of play" declared State; "this is a fairly staggering leap forward," said Thumped.com; while Nialler9 made it his Irish Times Album of The Week.

Tickets are €12.50/10. See www.roisindubh.net
