Canney welcomes doubling of funding for Greenways
Seán Canney T.D. has welcomed the announcement by Minister Shane Ross that he is to double the amount of funding for Greenways.
This announcement is in recognition of the success of Greenways and to this end, a new development strategy for additional Greenways is being worked up.
The Department of Transport is working on the strategy for the future development of Greenways and it is expected that this strategy will be published shortly. The additional funding will be available to back up the outcome of that strategy.
Hazardous roads after storm
Gardai in the region have advised motorists and cyclists to take extra care when using the roads this week.
As a result of the storm yesterday and particularly on rural roads there are a lot of fallen trees and leaves on the roads, these fallen leaves can make roads very hazardous when trying to brake.
People should call to elderly or venerable neighbours to make sure they are ok.
