A night of one acts plays in Loughrea

A NIGHT of one act plays, by the writers Paul Maher, Barry McKinley, and Stephen Smith, will be performed by the Seumas O’Kelly Players, in the Temperance Hall, Loughrea, next week.

The plays are The Man from Clerihan, by Paul Maher, which centres on a young widow, her sister, and neighbour bachelor farmer in a world of Joe Dolan music, trashy romance novels, and shotgun 'Texas stand-offs'; the SOKP's DLI Festival entry this year is Barry McKinley’s Small Box Psychosis, a modern comedy, set in a New York lift, and a plot line full of twists and turns; and Stephen Smith's Parentcraft, about four mothers and a father at their first parentcraft class.

The SOKP's annual Night Of One Acts takes place on Thursday October 19, Saturday 21, and Sunday 22. Advance tickets are €10 from TL O'Briens, Main Street, or €12 on door. Booking is via 083 - 8633796.
