Shivers Balearic Boat Ride on the Corrib

Event to hear DJ sets from Paramida, Cait, and Eoin

IS SEPTEMBER the new August? Shivers thinks so and in order to give one last hurrah to the sunshine, Shivers is hosting a boat party aboard the Corrib Princess, with resident DJ Eoin joined by Paramida and Cait.

Paramida made her name as an integral part of the new Berlin school of DJs embracing a more expansive sound than the straight up 4/4 music the city has been associated with, becoming a resident at Renate and Berghain/Panorama Bar. Her DJing mixes Italo, dreamy house tracks, scando-balearic bangers, tropical tones, and jacking techno - witness her releases via her Love On The Rocks label, which also has Telephones, Fantastic Man, and Massimiliano Pagliara on its roster. If you like the sound of what you just read, imagine hearing that on the cosmic confines of the Corrib Princess, sailing into the Sunset. Bliss!

Joining Paramida will be Dubliner Cait. She has enjoyed peak-time slots at Body&Soul, Electric Picnic, Open Ear, and is also one-third of DIP (with Soft Stone and Rkitt ). She spins a mix of acid house, techno, and electro.

Shivers Balearic Boat Ride takes place on Friday September 29 at 6.30pm. Tickets are €20 and include a complimentary balearic cocktail; a three hour cruise on the River Corrib; and free entry to Electric afterwards. Message www.facebook.com/Shiversgalway to get tickets. Entry to the club without a boat ticket is €8.
