Eurovision winner Eimear Quinn to sing in Galway Cathedral

Singer to be joined by renowned quintet Dublin Brass for candlelit concert

EIMEAR QUINN, best known for winning the 1996 Eurovision with the song 'The Voice', will perform a candlelit concert in Galway Cathedral, accompanied by the renowned brass quintet Dublin Brass.

The concert takes place on Saturday September 23 at 8pm, and will see Eimear and Dublin Brass joined by percussionist Noel Eccles, harpist Geraldine O’Doherty and fiddle/viola players Marie Louise Bow and Siubhan Ni Ghriofa.

"We’re delighted to be performing with Eimear," says Will Palmer, founder and artistic director of Dublin Brass, which includes members of both the RTÉ Symphony and RTÉ Concert orchestras. "This concert is going to be a real treat. Our audience is invited to sit back, relax and enjoy a candlelit evening of traditional Irish music specially reimagined for voice and brass."

For this concert, Eimear Qwill perform songs like 'My Lagan Love', 'The Voice', 'Mise Éire', and music from the Oscar-nominated Room. "Performing these beautiful folk songs," said Eimear, "in the unique context of traditional instruments and classical brass in the glorious setting of Galway Cathedral - I'm in my element!’
