Grant Thornton becomes official partner of Connacht Rugby

Professional services firm Grant Thornton has become an official partner of Connacht Rugby for the next two years.

It will continue to sponsor the Grant Thornton Seated Stand at the Galway Sportsground which accomodates an outdoor, seated option for 290 supporters.

Aengus Burns, partner in Grant Thornton’s Galway office, says the development of Connacht Rugby in recent years has been "phenomenal".

"We are delighted to continue supporting Connacht as they go from strength to strength," he says. "Grant Thornton as a firm is committed to supporting and enriching the communities where our offices are based. We strive to achieve this on both a local and national level, and with Connacht Rugby covering both provincial and grassroots teams, we see this as an important partnership."

Willie Ruane, CEO of Connacht Rugby, is delighted that Grant Thornton is extending its partnership with Connacht Rugby and "laying down deeper roots with the province".

"Like Connacht Rugby, Grant Thornton has been outstanding in its own sphere in recent years and we’re very confident that our partnership will ensure both parties continue to grow strongly in the years ahead.”

Grant Thornton employs 55 people in its Galway offices at Merchants Square and has been operating there since 2013.
