An exciting new afternoon tea has just launched at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Galway, served in the recently-opened Coopers Bar & Lounge overlooking Lough Atalia.
Filled with both sweet and savoury treats, the stylish tea highlights the very best local ingredients, such as Burren smoked salmon, paired with lime and ginger crème fraiche on brown soda bread, topped off with goodies like champagne and raspberry jelly and chocolate opera cake.
No tea is complete without scones, and this one comes with two types – classic and lemon with poppy seed, served with fresh cream, homemade lemon curd, and G jam.
The launch of afternoon tea coincides with the launch of new day and evening menus at Coopers, making the bar a popular all-day destination for drinks and dining in Galway.
Afternoon tea at the Radisson is served from 2.30pm to 5.30pm, Wednesday to Sunday, and costs €22 per person or €27 with a glass of prosecco. To celebrate the launch, guests can enjoy 10 per cent off the price of afternoon tea until October 7. Booking is essential. Contact 091 538300.
For those looking to make a day of it, tea can be teamed with a 70-minute treatment in spirit one spa. Choose from Elemis Pro Collagen Age Defy facial, Elemis Superfood Pro-Radiance facial, full body exfoliation with a Cleopatra milk bath, or Cellutox Aroma Spa ocean float, and enjoy access to the thermal suites, swimming pool, and outdoor hot tub. After you have relaxed and made the most of the award-winning facilities, you can head upstairs to Coopers for tea. The cost for a 70-minute treatment, access to the spa amenities, and afternoon tea is €110 – perfect for a celebratory day out.
