Fantasy Football review

And so round three of the Premier League concluded with a 4-0 drubbing of Arsenal by Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday evening.

Fantasy managers will have a two week break as World Cup qualifiers come into focus for the fortnight ahead. However, nerves will be frayed, each and every manager in the Galway Advertiser Tribal Leader League in association with St Anthony's and Claddagh Credit Union, cross their fingers and toes and hope none of their players get injured on international duty.

But with no Premier League matches for the next two weeks let us have a look at the top three of our league at present.

1 Mayo Vallecano - Kevin Fahy - 215

The GAA championship is not the only place where Mayo are gunning for glory. The football team is flying in the Tribal Leader League with a 16 point advantage over their nearest rivals in second spot. Fahy has had a brilliant start to the season with a massive 215 points garnered - the only manager in the league to break the 200 point mark. Firmino and Mohamed Salah have been the men to do the damage for Fahy but he will, no doubt, be hoping that long journeys with international sides Brazil and Egypt respectively, will not tire out both players.

2 Conor McGrath - Gary Neville - 199

Defences win titles and Conor McGrath has built a rock solid backline which is centred around the Man United's Eric Bailly, Antonio Valencia, and goalkeeper David de Gea. If the team's strikers of Wayne Rooney, Chicharito, and Christian Benteke can find their scoring boots Gary Neville will definitely be involved in the title race come the business end of the season.

3 Dara Leavy - pints - 199

The famous slogan was 'Guinness for strength' and Dara Leavy's team pints are buzzing at the moment sitting pretty in third place. Leavy has got his ingredients spot on for his Fantasy Football brew. Marcus Alonso and David Luiz form a strong base at the back; a smooth middle consists of Paul Pogba and David Silva dictating play; and a excellent head of Romelu Lukaku and Chicharito causes serious headaches for any team that encounters them. The after taste results in points, points, and more points. But Leavy will no doubt be hoping that his players will come back from the World Cup qualifiers with no international hangover.

That's the top three in the Galway Advertiser Tribal Leader League in association with St Anthony's and Claddagh Credit Union.

Enjoy the international break and see you in two weeks.
