Why not give rugby a try at Galwegians Rugby Club?

Galwegians Rugby Club, one of Connacht’s premier rugby club, is based at the historic Crowley Park on the old Dublin Road.

The club provides a pathway to play rugby for girls and boys through the Galwegians Youth Academy with teams from U7 to U18. The club ethos and emphasis is on playing rugby in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment.

Mini rugby from U7 to U12 is non-competitive with emphasis on learning new skills and teamwork with IRFU accredited coaches. The club also adheres to the IRFU best practices on safeguarding policies and procedures.

The coaching structures at youth level U13 to U18 now have coaches appointed on an annual basis to ensure continuity with the age grade and skill level required. The coaching structure has been augmented by a number of initiatives from the IRFU including age appropriate coaching courses, regional coaching clinics, and this year Galwegians is introducing a number of position and skill specific coaches who are former players, or senior coaches with specific skills in the area they support.

Galwegians is proud to have a network former senior players, male and female which includes former and current Connacht and Ireland players who are giving back time to coach the club's young girls and boys and imparting their knowledge and skills to augment Galwegians' coaching teams.

The new season begins for U7 to U12 teams on September 2, and new recruits are very welcome to come try rugby for a month to see if they like it and become part of a family friendly club. Galwegians has teams for all boys and girls to try out. Training for U7 to U12 is every Saturday in Galwegians from 10am.
