Galway radio drama set to national broadcast

Radio drama - recorded in the Flirt FM Studios in NUI Galway to be heard on Newstalk 106-108fm

A LOCALLY made radio drama - recorded in the Flirt FM Studios in NUI Galway, and on location around Galway city - is set for a national broadcast when it is aired on Newstalk 106-108fm this weekend and next.

A Pilot's Honour, produced, recorded, and edited by Alan Meaney, and written and directed by Jason Gill, will be broadcast on Sunday August 20 at 8am, and repeated on Saturday 26 at 10pm.

Part political thriller, part love story, it centres on a US fighter pilot, Bob Conway. His soul is broken, just like his body was in Iraq. In the effort to rebuild himself, he travels to Galway where he meets and falls in love with a student at NUIG. However Bob and Mary’s lives are still being shaped by the past and by powers thousands of miles away. Those powers will compel them to face each other’s secrets, leaving Conway with terrible choices: can the pilot save his honour and can he hold on to his soul?

The cast are Joe Steiner, Martina Dolan, Martin Kelleher, and Ronan Flynn. A Pilot's Honour can be listened to online at www.newstalk.com/documentaryonnewstalk, after the broadcast.
