Galway Dark Arts Festival 2017

Black metal, death metal, experimental, dark ambient, and noise

BLACK METAL, death metal, experimental, dark ambient, and noise musics will reverberate throughout the city centre as the Galway Dark Arts Festival 2017 descends this weekend to shroud all in its black cloak.

Hexen Haus Promotions presents the third Galway Dark Arts Festival on Saturday August 19 from 3pm in The Loft, Seven Bar, Bridge Street. The headliners are Manchester's Inconcessus Lux Lucis who describe their music - mainly black metal with a mix of the energy of eighties metal and the grooves of seventies hard rock - as "Saturnian Black Magic". Check out their albums Crux Luous Corona and Disintegration.

Also playing are From The Bogs of Augishka, a dark ambient/noise outfit from Clare, who celebrate their native county in songs such as ‘The Great Sea Stack at the Cliffs of Moher’ and ‘Aos Si’; Dublin death metallers Apostate Viaticum, who include former members of Morphosis; black/death metal band Coscradh, who will play songs form their forthcoming EP Of Death and Delerium; and the duo Krawwl, who play atmospheric black metal.

The line-up further includes Unyielding Love, promoting their recent album, The Sweat of Augury; GOURD a noise/doom project with members from On Pain Of Death and Wreck of the Hesperus; Soothsayer, who have released the highly rated EPs, Soothsayer and At This Great Depth; Phlaccid, an abstracted doom' trio from Dublin; and noise band Deathness Injection.

There will also be merch stands and work for sale by the Under My Skin and In The Horrors artists. Admission is €10.
