Dancer Russell Patrick Brown to give vogue dancing classes in Electric

GALWAY DANCE Project, with Galway Community Pride and Electric Garden and Theatre, present a special Vogue workshop with dancer Russell Brown, on Friday August 11 in the Abbeygate Street venue.

Vogue, or voguing, is a highly stylized, modern house dance originating in the late 1980s, and which evolved out of the Harlem ballroom scene of the 1960s. It gained mainstream exposure when it was featured in Madonna's song and video 'Vogue'.

Russell Patrick Brown is a New York native, who has worshipped at the feet of the Royal House of LaBeija on Christopher Street Pier in New York City. This 90 minute class is suitable for all and will take place in a club atmosphere. Full bar will be open. Admission is €10 which includes entry to Move with John Daly in Electric after, where participants can practise their skills.
