PoppySeed celebrates ten years in business

PoppySeed Gourmet Cafés joined together the staff, suppliers, friends, and family who have helped it achieve 10 successful years in business this month at a birthday party held at its Clarinbridge daytime café-restaurant.

Anne and Judy Forde opened the first PoppySeed Gourmet Café in Clarinbridge in 2007. Since then Lisa Forde and Alison Greaney have joined the management team, and the business has expanded to three further locations, in Oranmore, Eyre Street, in Galway city centre, and a pop-up café Poppies in the Primary Care Centre in Athenry which is the baby in the family.

Anne Forde said: “It’s very pleasing to reach this landmark and the anniversary. Thank you all for your kind words and best wishes as PoppySeed celebrated our 10th birthday. It has been quite an adventure. We are looking forward to the journey ahead and thank you for your support and friendship in the last 10 years. It has been a joy to share them with you. Thank you too to our amazing teams who bring the Poppy personality to the fore every day.”

PoppySeed is all about creative, wholesome, and homemade food. An innovative menu of eat-in and take-away breakfast, brunch, lunch, and light bite options is designed to burst with freshness and flavour while meeting contemporary tastes and food trends.

Afternoon tea is another specialty in the contemporary Upstairs @ Eyre Street space, which also hosts corporate and private events.

PoppySeed also provides a bespoke catering service for private and corporate events and parties. In addition, special events, including gourmet wine dinners, as well as cookery classes, taught by award-winning head chef Judy Forde, are run throughout the year.

PoppySeed thanks its customers for their support over the last 10 years and looks forward to seeing them over the future.
