Slow Place Like Home - new single, GIAF show

Band releases new single Galway label Strange Brew Rekkids

AHEAD OF their Galway International Arts Festival concert, supporting UNKLE, indie-electro trio Slow Place Like Home have released a new digital single, 'When I See You...Ice Cream' via Galway label Strange Brew Rekkids.

The Donegal trio are centered on, and led by, one time Galway resident Keith Mannion. The single was written between Knather Woods, Ballyshannon, Donegal, and the Algarve in Portugal. It was recorded and produced in Keith’s bedroom studio and mastered by Antony Ryan (Morr Music label ) in Denmark.

“‘When I See You…’ was initially conceived on a Casio SK-5 unit and deployed to several other instruments before becoming the beast it evolved into," says Keith. "Vocal samples by myself were chopped up, treated and tempered to the track. At the heart of it is an 8-bit frenzy, ready for nostalgic earlobes.”

Slow Place Like Home support James Lavelle presents UNKLE Sounds in the Róísín Dubh on Thursday July 27 at 8.30pm as part of the GIAF. For tickets see www.giaf.ie #GIAF17
