Galway WFC back after break

Galway Women’s FC manager Billy Clery will be hoping to get his first league points when they return to league action in Eamonn Deacy Park on Saturday (6pm ).

Kilkenny United WFC are the visitors, and Clery will be looking to build on the improving form his side displayed in the Shield quarter-final.

However Galway go into the game without injured defenders Keara Cormican and Jennifer Byrne, in addition to striker Sinead Taylor. However, Clery's side will boast new signing, Menlough native Shaunagh Jackson, and she will add to the fire power up front. Jackson has previous National League experience with Castlebar Celtic and represented Ireland in the 2013 World University Games in Kazan, Russia. Out of action with injury for a period of time, she has recovered and is now working on regaining her fitness ahead of this weekend’s game.

Manager Billy Clery is looking forward to the visit of Kilkenny United. “I was delighted with the result last time out. The girls showed real character to come back from 3-0 down. I hope we can build on the result and it really kick starts our season.”
