Therapy? - Live and mellowed out?

Band to perform acoustic shows on new Irish tour

THERAPY? THE Antrim trio who blazed a trail across the Irish and British music scenes with their loud, lively, and frantic punk/metal, often with a tasty dollop of melody, are touring Ireland, and fans are going to see and hear them in a very different context.

The Wood & Wire tour comes to the Róisín Dubh on Saturday April 29 at 9pm and will see Andy Cairns (guitar/vocals ), Michael McKeegan (bass ), and Neil Cooper (drums ) perform acoustic/unplugged versions of their songs.

"This will be a challenge for us," says Cairns, "and hopefully a chance for our fans to hear the melodies, guitars, and rhythms in unique settings. We'll be working on songs from across all our albums, and in intimate environments we'll be able to give insights into the stories and influences behind them. We'd love you to join us in helping make this a celebratory experience."

The band is best known for the albums Nurse (1992 ), Troublegum (1994 ), and Infernal Love (1995 ). However they enjoyed a new lease of life with 2015's Disquiet, which featured on numerous albums of the year lists, and was called "a batch of killer songs that sound like an all-new greatest hits collection", by Metalhammer.

Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and The Róisín Dubh.
