Opel dealers offering a booster trade-in allowance

Opel Ireland says it is now offering an innovative ‘Booster Trade-In’ offer to bridge the gap motorists are experiencing when trading their old car for a new one.

With the recession hitting the trade-in values of cars, and with many dealers not even accepting trade-ins, many motorists are understandably putting off the decision to purchase a new car.

However Opel dealers are accepting trade-ins and are offering a booster price from €1,250 extra against a new Corsa five-door up to €2,250 extra against a new Zafira 7-seater MPV. Opel says it means the cost of changing to a new car is significantly reduced making it easier to drive away in a new Opel.

Commenting on Opel’s offer, Gillian Whittall, marketing and PR manager with Opel Ireland said: “We understand the frustrations of motorists who are experiencing a decrease in value of their trade-in. Even if their cars are in great condition, with low mileage, the over-supply in the car market is effectively reducing the value. Rather than offer a “cash-back” type deal, where motorists still have to come up with the full cost in order to upgrade their car to a new one, we are simply increasing the value of their trade-in. This reduces the cost of upgrading, keeps the money in the hands of the motorist, and puts them in a better position to be able to afford a new Opel.”
