The eighth edition of the Craughwell 10 mile road race takes place on Sunday March 19 at 1pm.
With a field of 400 runners, this year's event boasts a new route that brings the runners through Craughwell nillage before heading off along by Moyode wood, on to Kilconerion, Ganty, and finishing at Gilligan Park just outside Craughwell.
The race, which is organised by Craughwell AC and sponsored by Revive Active, is chipped timed with a finisher’s medal for all competitors.
2016 winner Matt Bidwell will be back to defend his title - his first win after seven attempts.
“The Craughwell 10 miler is one of my favourite road races in the calendar," says Bidwell. "It is always well supported by athletes both locally and nationally and it’s a great opportunity to pit yourself against the best over the classic threshold distance.” Race headquarters and registration is at St Michael's Hall in Craughwell village. Registration is now open for this event on active.com
