Public lecture on Irish-Americans and Independence

WHILE THE contribution of Irish Americans to the events of 1916 are well documented, their campaign to undermine British imperial rule in Ireland in the decades before the Great War is often neglected.

However a public lecture, to be given to the Renmore History Society, on Thursday March 9, will throw light on this subject. Twisting the Lion’s Tail - Irish American agitations for Independence; 1895 - 1912 will be given by NUI Galway doctoral candidate, and former member of An Chéad Chath, Tony King.

The talk takes place in Renmore Barracks at 8pm. Places are limited and must be reserved in advance via www.eventbrite.ie Seats are free for members and €5 for non-members.
