Builin Blasta has all the best ingredients for a great meal experience. Based in the Ceardlann Craft village across from Spiddal Beach in Connemara the cafe serves up wholesome, tasty comfort food in a relaxed and friendly way. The café is inspired by its seaside landscape, by the kitchen garden that grows herbs, edible flowers and berries for its summer menu and by the famous Irish welcome that Canadian born (but Irish at heart ) chef/owner Heather Flaherty has grown to know and love.
The award-winning café & bakery is dedicated to quality from start to finish. At Builin Blasta, they bake their own breads, cakes and pastries from scratch every morning (you should try their Rye sourdough, it’s something special ) sourcing ingredients from local organic & artisan producers. The menu features a range of traditional Irish and European dishes including freshly made soups, sandwiches and salads, savoury tarts and hearty main course.
.
They also have an all-day breakfast menu that includes staples like the full Irish breakfast as well as more unusual fair like the veggie scramble with crumbled feta & fresh herbs. With a full barista coffee menu, herbal teas, home-made lemonades and a wine selection, you’re sure to be well fed and watered.
The café is owned and managed by Chef Heather Flaherty, former Executive Chef at McCambridge’s Deli & Restaurant. Heather’s love of food is infectious. She will babble on about an ingredient, a supplier, a dish or a meal with an enthusiasm that borders on obsession. She considers it a bit of a mission to share the joys of cooking and eating good, healthy, wholesome food with the world. She uses that passion to inspire her menu, as well as the humble kitchen garden that she started last year and is quite literally hoping to grow year after year.
Not satisfied with only serving food & drink, the café offers a range of delicious chutney’s, dressings & hampers that are all made by hand in small batches in the Builin kitchen. You can check out their range and place an order on their website www.builinblasta.ie – we recommend the Red onion & tomato relish with your next sausage butty, it will transform it into something heavenly… or try their French dressing on your next potato salad- out of this world… really it’s all great!
.
You can also order bespoke cakes, check out some of Heather’s recipes (she promises there are more recipes coming soon ) and book catering for your next office event or special occasion. Online or in person, Builin Blasta is a treat for the senses.
Try some deliciousness, you won’t be disappointed.
