Galway handballers continue to progress in the All Ireland competition with three victories in Aughagower on Saturday.
In the senior ladies Michael Breathnach's Ciana Ní Churraoin produced a convincing straight sets win 21-5, 21-5 over Mayo's Pauline Gallagher to advance to the All-Ireland ladies senior semi-finals. She will now meet Limerick's Martina McMahon, who defeated Kerry's Ashley Prendiville.
In the senior men's second round Moycullen's Martin Mulkerrins dominated his Roscommon opponent Rikki O'Gara, winning 21-7, 21-13. Mulkerrins now faces Clare's former finalist Diarmuid Nash on Saturday in the quarter-finals.
Last on Saturday's card in Aughagower was the minor singles Connacht final which saw Diarmuid Mulkerrins win back-to-back minor titles. He overcame his Mayo opponent 21-12, 21-6 to set him up for an All-Ireland minor semi-final against a Leinster opponent in two weeks' time.
Diarmuid is bidding to emulate his brother Martin, who won the minor singles in 2010.
