Galway Community College to stage The Devil In Drag

Dario Fo play comes to An Taidhbhearc

AN INCORRUPTIBLE judge investigates an arson attack on a local circus, but the more he investigates, the more dark forces try to discredit him, and then things take a very strange turn, as two devils, dressed as clowns, try to possess him.

This is Dario Fo's The Devil In Drag, which is being staged by the Theatre Performance Class at Galway Community College in An Taidhbhearc, on Wednesday February 8 and Thursday 9 at 8pm. Featuring a plot that is by turns absurd, abstract, and awesome, the cast will portray an array of roles including ringmaster, strong men, clowns, and acrobats. There will also be live music throughout.

"The college’s adaptation will showcase the abundance of talented students that we have enrolled on the course this year,’’ says the course co-ordinator and director Lorraine O’Hara-McGrath. "Each year the students that come through just seem to get better and better. Many of them go on to further performance based studies, and all leave with better confidence, advanced performance skills and loads of stage exposure."

Tickets are €10 from Galway Community College ([email protected] or 091 - 565886 ).
